You've saved hundreds of reels — restaurants, bars, cafés, whole city guides — thinking I'll go there someday. Then someday arrives, and they're a bottomless, unsearchable scroll inside Instagram. Here's how to find them, and how to make them actually usable.

How to find saved reels on Instagram

Open your profile → tap the menu (☰) top right → Saved. Everything you've bookmarked lives under All posts, newest first; if you made Collections, they're here too. On desktop it's Profile → Saved.

Why Instagram Saves fails the moment you want to use it

There's no search. As of 2026 there's no search box inside Saved. You can't look something up by the thing you remember — a dish, a neighbourhood, a place name, a line from the video. You scroll.

There's no map. Fifty restaurants across five cities sit in one identical grid. You can't see what you saved in the neighbourhood you're standing in.

Your saves are trapped in Instagram. They only work inside the app, they're private, and there's nothing pulling you back to them — so the pile grows and the visits don't.

And it's one reel = one save. A reel showing six places gets bookmarked as a single video. To get those six places out, you rewatch, pause, screenshot, google each one. Which is the deeper problem below.

A reel is several places. Instagram saves it as one video.

That "12 hidden gems in Lisbon" reel has twelve places in it. Instagram keeps the video. To actually use it you'd rewatch and transcribe all twelve by hand.

Your saved reels stop being a graveyard of videos and become a map of where to go.
